The Bible Church of the Lakes (originally named Hill Country Bible Church of Lake LBJ) was founded in 2005 by several families who felt that their spiritual needs were not being met elsewhere. They were seeking a church whose focus would be on Jesus Christ and growing in His Word through sound Bible teaching.
On March 1, 2006, Fred Bates was appointed as the church’s first Pastor and he faithfully served the church until his retirement. Subsequently, Pastor Lanny Tanton was appointed as our Pastor and began his ministry at BCL on September 1, 2017.
The Bible Church of the Lakes is a still fairly young church body currently comprised mostly of middle to older adults from Horseshoe Bay and its surrounding communities (Marble Falls, Burnet, Cottonwood, Meadowlakes, Granite Shoals, Kingsland, Llano, Round Mountain, Johnson City, Blanco, Spicewood, Lakeway, Dripping Springs & Austin). We are an independent local church, demoninationally unaffiliated.
