A believer’s assurance that his prayers will be answered will be developed and strengthened by meditation on the attributes of the LORD.
- Believers may confidently trust in the LORD when they intercede for their leaders in righteous causes (1-5).
- Intercession for the faithful will encourage and edify (1-4).
- Intercession is powerful if prayed with faith (5).
- Believers will find that their trust in the LORD will grow when they meditate on His nature (6-8).
- When we pray with faith we can anticipate an answer (6, 8).
- The certainty of our faith must rest on the LORD’S nature (7).

- Note the words that reveal God’s relationship with His people and their king. Are those words describing a positive or negative relationship?
- What things does David desire? How does he express this desire? Why does God want us to express to Him our desires if He already knows about them?

- Contrast the object of David’s confidence with what his enemies are trusting. What is the outcome of each?
- How does God deal with His enemies?
- How do you go about getting victory in various situations? How does it compare with what David did? What is your response to victory?
