It is proper for believers to praise the LORD for His character and salvation.
- Call to Praise: Believers are to praise their LORD with great joy and skill (1-3).
- Believers are to sing joyfully to the LORD (1).
- Believers are to praise the LORD with musical accompaniment (2).
- Believers are to play skillfully a new song of praise (3).
- Cause to Praise: Believers are to praise the LORD for His character (4-19).
- They are to praise Him because His word is upright and powerful (4a, 6-9).
- They are to praise Him because His work is reliable (4b-10-12).
- They are to praise Him because He judges all with righteousness (5a, 13-15).
- They are to praise the LORD because He is faithful to His people by His covenantal love (5b, 16-19).
- Conclusion: Believers ought to be confident in faith as they wait for His covenantal help and protection (20-22).
