Believers who resolve to be steadfast in their faith in God’s faithfulness may express their confidence that He will deliver them from serious threats and be exalted over all the world.
- Believers pray that God will be glorified by delivering them from serious threats to their life (1-5).
- Cry: Believers cry out to God for mercy amid danger (1).
- Confession: Believers confess their faith in God’s faithfulness to deliver them (2-3).
- Circumstances: Believers tell God of the serious threat facing them (4).
- Celebration: Believers express their desire that God’s glory be exalted over all the earth (5).
- Believers express their confidence in God’s faithfulness to deliver them with a vow of steadfastness and celebration of His glory (6- 11).
- Confidence: Believers may express their confidence that God will remove the wicked (6).
- Vow: Believers express their resolve to praise God for His faithfulness (7-10).
- Celebration: Believers express their desire that God’s glory be exalted over all the earth (11).

- Note the tune to which this psalm is sung: “Do Not Destroy”. Does this first verse in the Hebrew Bible summarize this psalm? The meaning of miktam is uncertain. It may be a type of genre.
