- How has the psalmist’s experience with God affected others?
- Imagine how the determined and unrelenting persecution of the psalmist’s enemies (as seen in this psalm) would affect your actions and feelings if this happened to you. What do you think causes the psalmist to hope in and praise God while in this situation?
- Why does the psalmist base his hope in God’s past actions?

- A first reading is seeing trees; a re-reading is seeing the forest. The more one reads an entire book of the Bible the better one can understand its parts. Re-reading moves a book from being an acquaintance to being a best friend. The Bible is worthy of multiple re-readings!
- The longer you look, the more you see and the more you see, the better you understand. You rake for leaves; you dig for hidden gold.
- You will be able to recall other passages of the Word of God that relate to what you are reading either confirming or qualifying the meaning and application of a passage.
- You are not the same person as when you read something for the first time. Life experiences help you to be aware of more in the pas- sage and its significance.
The best reader is a re-reader!
